Artist of the Month: Cat Snapp
Cat Snapp lives and works in Everett, WA. Growing up an Air Force brat, she’s lived in places such as Missouri, California, Guam, Florida and Texas. She studied printmaking and earned an MFA from the University of North Texas (Denton, TX) and a BFA from the University of Central Florida (Orlando, FL). Her work has exhibited nationally and internationally and her works on paper are included in several public and private collections including the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art and the Rare Books & Texana Collection at the University of North Texas. Her work can be viewed in the publication 500 Handmade Books, Volume 2, by Lark Crafts.
Cat’s fine art printmaking and artist books utilize abstraction as a tool for observing and investigating interpersonal relationships and one’s connection to the surrounding landscape. Through Cat Snapp Studio she creates letterpress greeting cards and handbound journals that help bring people together and celebrate the power of ink on paper.
