Store Updates: Covid Guidelines

Updated: August 11, 2021

New Mask Directive Starting August 12th:

Beginning Thursday, August 12th Sno-Isle Food Co-op will adopt the Snohomish Health District updated mask directive.

What does this mean for shoppers? All shoppers 5 years or older are expected to wear masks in our store and public areas of our building. It is up to our staff, owners, and neighbors to be responsible and respectful of each other. Online ordering is available for your convenience and comfort.

Our Co-op has adhered to CDC, Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHA), Labor and Industries (L&I), and Snohomish Health District guidelines throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and will continue to do so by adopting the new directive on August 12th. Thank you for your continued support as we all navigate these changes together.

Please see Snohomish Health District Mask Directive statement below.

“Use of face masks for everyone ≥5 years of age within indoor public spaces is reasonable and necessary in Snohomish County to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission until the Snohomish Health District confirms that the COVID-19 risk to Snohomish County residents is substantially reduced…”

More information on the directive is available on the Snohomish Health District website, https://www.snohd.org/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=596.

New Mask Guidelines Starting June 18th

Beginning Friday, June 18th Sno-Isle Food Co-op will adopt the Center for Disease Control (CDC) updated mask guidelines for fully vaccinated people.

What does this mean for shoppers? Fully vaccinated shoppers may choose to shop without a mask, if you feel comfortable to do so. Per the CDC, to be considered fully vaccinated you must wait 2 weeks after meeting the specified dose requirement of the manufacturer. If you’re not yet fully vaccinated, you are still required to wear a mask and take other precautions while in our Co-op.

While walking through our Co-op you might see some smiling faces! All who enter the co-op will be given this decision: shopper, staff, vendors, and community members. We will ensure staff who choose not to wear a mask provide proof of full vaccination to our Human Resources department. We expect the community to uphold these guidelines and only unmask if they have met the full vaccination status.

It is up to our staff, owners, and neighbors to be responsible and respectful of each other. This includes respecting others’ privacy and right to make personal health decisions for themselves. We will not assume to know the personal health of someone based on their choice regarding masks.

These ever-changing guidelines are only effective for fully vaccinated individuals. Individuals who are not fully vaccinated will need to continue to wear a mask. Online ordering is available for your convenience and comfort.

Our Co-op has adhered to CDC, Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHA), and Labor and Industries (L&I) guidelines throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and will continue to do so by adopting the new guidelines on June 18th. Thank you for your continued support as we all navigate these changes together.

Updated: May 17, 2021

Dear Owners and Neighbors,

Washington State is now following the new CDC guidelines regarding masks. This will allow fully vaccinated individuals to no longer wear masks indoors or outdoors. They have specified that businesses can retain the right to require masks. Our Co-op will do so for now.

We are waiting to hear more specific guidance from Snohomish County, Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHA), and Labor and Industries (L&I) before making any policy changes. These announcements should be available in the next few weeks.

We are excited to see all your smiling faces but must ensure this is the right change for our staff, owners, and neighbors. Online ordering is available for your convenience and comfort. Thank you for your continued support as we all navigate these changes together.
