Words of Wellness: Plastic Free July Favorites

Words of Wellness is a monthly blog written by Sno-Isle Food Co-op’s Wellness Manager, Taryn.

In honor of Plastic Free July, here are a few of my plastic-free favorites from our Wellness Department:

Sea Witch Botanicals Vegan Lip Balm
So creamy, and smooth, this lip balm goes on like a dream! Free from animal products, including beeswax, this lip balm will leave your lips feeling soft and hydrated. Fun bonus: due to the cocoa butter in its formula, this lip balm smells like a chocolate bar!

HiBAR Solid Shampoo and Conditioner
With multiple formulations to meet different hair and scalp needs, HiBAR is one of the easiest solid haircare brands to navigate. All of the haircare solids are scented using the same blend of citrus essential oils, except for the Moisturize line which comes in scented as well as unscented. My personal favorite is the Volumize line, which doesn’t weigh down my fine hair and gives it the added oomf it needs!

Moon Valley Organics Herbal Lotion Bar
Made in Washington state using the herbs grown on their farm, as well as beeswax harvested from the bees they raise, these lotion bars are awesome for hard-working hands! Whether your hands are dry due to weather, gardening, or work, these lotion bars will soothe your parched skin; these are also useful for cracked heels, as well as anywhere your skin needs hydration. My personal favorite is the Coconut Lemon bar.

COMING SOON:
Attitude Sunscreen Sticks- SUNSCREEN IN CARDBOARD TUBES! I know I can’t be the only one who is excited for this! Environmental Working Group (EWG) Verified, means that these sunscreens are free of harmful chemicals. They are also reef-safe, vegan and biodegradable! I’m loving the Tropical scented Baby & Kids Stick. All of Attitude’s Sunscreen Sticks are SPF 30 and made using non-nano zinc oxide.
